Ms. Jones has more than 25 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry. Over her entire career, Ms. Jones has invested in and loaned on CRE assets on behalf of large pension funds and institutional investors, including Equitable Real Estate (largest pension fund advisor and investment management firm at the time), GMAC Commercial Mortgage (GMACCM) (one of the largest CRE lenders, owned by GM) and CW Capital (the U.S. debt investment platform owned by Caisse de dépôt, one of the largest pension fund managers in Quebec). Ms. Jones is a seasoned veteran in CRE investments, capital markets, and structured finance. Since 2009, Ms. Jones has served as both Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer of Basis Investment Group (Basis), a multi-strategy commercial real estate investment platform she founded with JEMB Realty Corporation that acquires and originates a variety of senior and subordinated loans, preferred equity and joint venture equity positions on behalf of its investors. Under her leadership, Basis has succeeded in closing nearly $7 billion in commercial real estate debt and structured equity related investments across the United States. Prior to joining Basis, Ms. Jones worked at CW Capital LLC from 2004 to 2009, serving as head of CW Capital’s fixed and floating rate Capital Markets Lending Division and closing approximately $6 billion in investments. Between 1997 and 2004, Ms. Jones was a Senior Vice President of Commercial Capital Initiatives Inc., a GMACCM subsidiary (now Berkadia) and part of the leadership team responsible for creating GMAC’s Capital Markets lending division. Prior to her seven years with GMACCM, she held various positions on the equity and asset management side of the business at commercial real estate investment companies including Equitable Real Estate and AMRESCO Management, Inc.
Ms. Jones is currently the Board Chair of Veris Residential (NYSE: VRE, formerly Mack Cali), an Independent Director for Crown Castle International Corporation (NYSE: CCI), the Chair of the Real Estate Executive Council (REEC), a member of the President's Council of Cornell Women (PCCW), a member of the Executive Leadership Council, on the Advisory Board for NYU’s Schack Institute of Real Estate and the Vice-Chairman of the Basis Impact Group Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to creating a pipeline of women and minorities in commercial real estate. Ms. Jones formerly served as an Independent Director for Monogram Residential Trust, Inc. (NYSE: MORE). Ms. Jones was recognized as one of The Network Journal’s 25 Most Influential Black Women in Business in 2017, received the Council of Urban Professionals (CUP) 2019 Finance Catalyst Award and received the 2020 Cornell Baker Industry Leader Award. Ms. Jones holds a BA in Economics from Cornell University and an MBA with a concentration in Real Estate Finance from the J. Mack Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University.
As Chief Investment Officer of Basis, Mr. Shoyombo oversees investment sourcing and execution, financial analysis, portfolio management, and financial reporting. Together with the CEO, Mr. Shoyombo develops and implements Basis’ overall investment strategies, capital raising, asset allocation, management leadership, and oversight. Mr. Shoyombo has over 30 years of experience in CRE financing and investment. Before joining Basis, Mr. Shoyombo served as Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer for the Capital Markets Lending Division of CW Capital LLC. He was one of four senior executives who established CW Capital’s lending and investment platform, which originated CRE loans and investments. He served as a member of CW Capital’s Investment Committee. Prior to CW Capital, Mr. Shoyombo held a senior position at GMAC Commercial Mortgage (GMACCM) sourcing, underwriting, and structuring real estate loans and served as a member of the Investment Committee. Before GMACCM, Mr. Shoyombo held senior positions at Nomura Asset Capital, Community Redevelopment Agency of Los Angeles, and Kenneth Michael and Company. He has been involved with various capital market initiatives and challenging and complicated deal structures. Mr. Shoyombo has a deep knowledge of real estate financing and is well regarded as a player-coach. Throughout his career, Mr. Shoyombo has been involved with more than $35 billion of real estate transactions including investment sourcing, structuring, underwriting, closing, securitizing, and credit oversight of fixed and floating rate loans, mezzanine loans, preferred equity, and structured equity investments. Mr. Shoyombo earned an MBA in Finance with Honors from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA.
Mr. Shoyombo is actively involved in civic activities. Among other roles, he served many years as a treasurer and trustee of GGC, a not-for-profit organization in Jersey City. He acts as a mentor and advisor to young professionals in real estate. He undertakes initiatives to support community activities and volunteers at local charities and community centers to support and cater to underprivileged populations.
Mr. Burnett is a seasoned real estate investment professional that has invested over $14 billion of equity in opportunistic and value-add real estate projects globally. His transaction experience includes acquisitions, restructuring and asset management in the U.S., Europe and Asia where he has executed direct investments and joint-ventures in all the major real estate asset classes. Today, Mr. Burnett is Managing Director, Investments for BIG Equity Investors LLC, a minority-owned investment management platform that invests in middle market real estate on behalf of institutional LPs. At BIG Equity, Mr. Burnett helps to lead the firm’s investment business including strategy formation, sourcing and acquisitions. He is a member of the firm’s investment and ESG committees. Prior to BIG Equity, he led all aspects of the real estate equity investment business for Assurant Inc., a Fortune 500 firm. In this role, he oversaw real estate equity investments for both Assurant’s $13 billion asset management group and for Assurant Investment Management, the company’s third-party investment management platform. At Assurant, Mr. Burnett was a member of the Firm’s Real Estate Investment Committee and the CEO’s Global Diversity Council.
Before Assurant, Mr. Burnett was a senior investment principal in AIG’s Global Real Estate Investment practice. At AIG, he specialized in the execution of joint-venture investments globally and played a key role in the successful restructure and re-launch of AIG’s $25 billion real estate investment platform. He began his career in real estate providing merger and post acquisitions advisory services to the Blackstone Real Estate Group during the assemblage of their acclaimed LXR and Extended Stay real estate portfolios. Mr. Burnett has also held consulting and investment positions with Ernst & Young and Merrill Lynch, respectively. In addition to his professional activity, Mr. Burnett was previously a Governor appointed Board Director of the New York Business Development Corporation and is a current appointee to the New York State Real Estate Board. He is also chairman of the Praxis Housing Board, a Council member of the Urban Land Institute and a dedicated minister in his local church. Mr. Burnett received a BA in finance from Boston University and an MBA from Dartmouth’s Tuck School of Business where he was both a Robert Toigo and Consortium Fellow. He resides in Westchester County, New York with his wife and three daughters.
Mr. Egeonu is Managing Director, Asset Management for BIG Equity Investors LLC. In this role, he is responsible for investment performance and business development for BIG Equity. This includes executive oversight of all asset-level activity in collaboration with operating partners/sponsors and sourcing new and cultivating existing investors on behalf of the venture.
Mr. Egeonu was formerly head of asset management for the real estate equity platform of Assurant Investment Management (AIM), a subsidiary of Assurant Inc. He was responsible for the investment performance of the company’s real estate portfolio, including business plan development and execution, leasing, property operations, financing, and dispositions, and was a member of the Firm’s real estate investment committee. Mr. Egeonu also sourced and executed investment opportunities on behalf of AIM, with specific expertise in the office sector.
Mr. Egeonu has over 17 years of experience in finance and real estate, and to date he has been responsible for real estate transactions and development projects totaling in excess of $10 billion. Prior to Assurant, Mr. Egeonu was a project manager with Silverstein Properties, where he was a key member of the team responsible for the $1.6 billion construction financing for 3 World Trade Center. Previously, Mr. Egeonu was an asset manager with Canyon Capital Realty Advisors where he was responsible for a $1 billion multi-asset class portfolio. There, he managed dispositions, re-financings and was also involved in distressed investment workouts. Mr. Egeonu received a BA in English from Amherst College and an MBA in Real Estate and Finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a Robert Toigo Fellow.
Mr. Chun is Managing Director, Finance and Portfolio Management for BIG Equity Investors LLC. In this role, he is responsible for the financial and operational performance of BIG Equity’s investment portfolio and business, respectively. Prior to BIG Equity, Mr. Chun oversaw the operational and financial aspects of the real estate portfolio for Assurant Investment Management (AIM), a subsidiary of Assurant Inc. With a focus on finance and portfolio management, Mr. Chun managed joint venture partners in areas of governance, financing, accounting, reporting and supported asset management. Mr. Chun was also responsible for all internal finance and controllership requirements including cash management, FP&A processes, valuations, and liaising with AIM’s controllership team. Also, as acting CFO of the real estate fund business, Mr. Chun was responsible for managing all investor requirements including financial and tax reporting.
Prior to joining Assurant, Mr. Chun was the Financial Planning & Analytics Manager for Rouse Properties, a retail-focused REIT. Mr. Chun joined Rouse Properties from GE Real Estate where he was the Finance Manager for the US Equity business, a $5 billion portfolio of both wholly-owned and joint venture real estate investments. Mr. Chun has also held positions with Macquarie Capital Advisors, Ellis Partners, and JPMorgan Chase. Mr. Chun received a BS in Industrial Engineering from Columbia University and currently resides in Westchester County, NY with his wife and two sons.
Mr. Glantz is Vice President for BIG Equity Investors LLC. In this role, he is responsible for underwriting and executing real estate investments including all aspects of financial analysis, due diligence, and ongoing portfolio monitoring.
Mr. Glantz was formerly an Associate for the real estate equity platform of Assurant Investment Management (AIM), a subsidiary of Assurant Inc. where he had similar responsibilities. Prior to Assurant, Mr. Glantz was a Senior Associate of Acquisitions & Development at Brack Capital Real Estate (BCRE), a fully integrated global owner and developer of real estate. At BCRE, Mr. Glantz was responsible for the analytics and underwriting of acquisitions, debt and equity financings, and shared responsibility of project management. Mr. Glantz previously worked in Citi’s Capital Market division as an Analyst in the Derivatives Solutions Group, structuring and executing interest rate derivatives for corporate clients. Mr. Glantz graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a BS in Business Administration from The Tepper School of Business and an additional major in Decision Science.
Ms. Kalugina is a Senior Associate for BIG Equity Investors LLC. In this role, she is responsible for underwriting real estate investments including all aspects of financial analysis and due diligence as well asset management duties.
Ms. Kalugina was formerly a Senior Associate with Situs AMC, supporting a real estate debt fund where she was responsible for underwriting and closing of subordinate debt investments in middle market opportunities. Prior to Situs AMC, Ms. Kalugina worked for JP Morgan’s Real Estate Banking group as an Associate responsible for underwriting senior financing investments. Ms. Kalugina earned an MBA from Cornell University and an MPS in Real Estate from the SC Johnson College of Business. Ms. Kalugina earned her BS in Business Administration from the University of Missouri - Columbia.
Mr. Parmar is an Associate for BIG Equity Investors LLC. In this role, he is responsible for the investment analysis and execution of real estate investments as well as the ongoing management and disposition of existing assets.
Mr. Parmar was formerly a Senior Analyst at Allianz Real Estate, where he was responsible for the asset management of U.S. institutional core investments across office, industrial, multifamily, and student housing in primary gateway markets. Mr. Parmar also held a position in the fixed-income portfolio group of Prudential’s Global Portfolio Management. Mr. Parmar earned an MS in Real Estate from the NYU Schack Institute of Real Estate and a BS in Finance from Rutgers University - New Brunswick.
Mr. Johnson is an Analyst for BIG Equity Investors LLC. In this role he is responsible for underwriting and executing real estate investments including all aspects of financial analysis as well as asset management of existing assets.
Mr. Johnson formerly worked as an intern for BIG Equity before joining full time in late 2022. Prior to his internship, Mr. Johnson graduated from Brown University with a dual BA in Applied Mathematics and Economics.
